Vidya Shakti Awards
Vidya Shakti respects and recognizes accomplished citizens of Bharat in the field of education. Vidya Shakti Awards are given annually. Vidya Shakti committee receives nominations from various bodies and selects the most eligible persons for that year based on the following criteria. The awards are listed below in the order of merit.
Vidyaabharana (विद्याभरन) Award
1. Must have 10+ years of experience/contribution in education field as a teacher and/or administrative activities in education department and/or through NGOs
2. Must have proven skills of innovative teaching and/or leadership and/or supportive and motivational capabilities
3. Must be non controversial and respected by the teacher community.
4. Must have worked and/or managed education department related supportive and non-academic activities as well such as sports, mid-may-meals, school improvement initiatives, community development activities thru schools etc.
5. Must be instrumental in implementing education related initiatives of the Government
Vidya Saagara (विद्या सागर) Award
1. Must have 20+ years of experience/contribution in the field of education
2. Must have demonstrated capabilities of Vidyaabharana criteria
3. Must have developed disruptive and innovative ways of teaching and teaching tools
4. Must have trained and/or mentored many teachers
5. Must have deep research passion in improving education
Vidya Bhaaskara (विद्या भास्कर) Award
1. Must have 30+ years of experience/contribution in the field of education
2. Must have demonstrated capabilities of Vidya Saagara criteria
3. Must have developed methods and done service for the entire education eco-system
4. Must have served at least 5000 rural and poor children
Vidya Stree (विद्या स्त्री) Award
1. This is a special award to recognize the contribution of women in the field of education. Nari Shakti participation is a significant catalyst in education.
2. Motivated women who enable other women to contribute to education field and make rural women to participate in education, are eligible for this award.
The committee weighs the magnitude of the contribution and impact created by the nominee, more than the number of years of experience. The committee’s decision is final. The committee member names are kept confidential in order to ensure a fair selection process without any external influences.
