About Us
Project Vidya Shakti is envisioned by a consortium that consists of IIT Madras, IITM Pravartak, IFE Academy and Open Mentor Trust. Our goal is to provide quality education to everyone, and in turn improve the gross enrollment ratio (GER) to colleges. The project began in Oct 2021, in five villages in Tamil Nadu and has since expanded to 2105 rural interaction centers (RICs) across India and Sri Lanka.
The project involves STEM tutors who visit schools in the morning and afternoon, carrying three to four VR (virtual reality) devices for each session. Vidya Shakti classes are conducted in Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh & in Sri Lanka.
